Administrative records of A Program for Harvard College, a three year fund raising campaign, 1956-1959. Includes the correspondence and other records of Program officers. Records include or relate to the Program's plans of operation, campaign goals, quotas and schedules; lists of prospects; and correspondence, arranged geographically, regarding solicitation of these prospects; interim and progress reports; correspondence relating to Program dinners, meetings and conferences; and Proceedings of the 1957 Alumni Conference. Also includes memoranda, scripts, reports and publications regarding Harvard's Day of 1958. Records also include printed materials for circulation, interviews with university officers, President Pusey's gift letters to donors, statements and speeches of the President and other Program officers, personnel information, and the Program's relation to other university funds and endowment. Nathan Marsh Pusey (1907-2001) was the twenty-fourth president of Harvard University from 1953 to 1971. He was also president of Lawrence College (1944-1953), president of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation (1971-1975), and president of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (1978-1983).
